Open Window provides dynamic practice-led education integrating conceptual thinking and academic rigour in the applied arts. As an accredited institution of high repute in the world of technology driven education in the creative arts, Open Window has become a leader and keystone organisation in South Africa over the past 21 years.

Three-year BA Visual Communication Design and four-year Honours degrees offer a vibrant mix of practical work, critical and creative thinking, as well as research. All qualifications are accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) and are registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Various One Year Programmes, Short Learning Programmes and Short Courses form part of the offering.

Open Window was established in 1993 as an art school. It has since evolved into an institute specialising in the fields of Film Arts, Illustration, 3D Animation, Motion Design, Communication Design, Interactive Design Studies, Photography and Game Design.
