Nashville Pride

Nashville Pride is a non-profit based in Nashville, Tennessee that produces a yearly LGBT Pride Festival. Nashville Pride's mission is to educate and maintain a sense of pride, community, and awareness of, about, and for GLBT people and culture in Middle Tennessee.

History

The first pride parade took place in 1988.[1]

National attention was garnered by the festival in 2010 when headlining entertainer, Vanessa Carlton, came out to the attendees. She began her set by saying "I've never said this before, but I am a proud bisexual woman."[2][3]

The 2013 Festival was held at Riverfront Park on Saturday, June 15.[4]

The 2015 festival drew an estimated 15,000-20,000 people, possibly making it the largest gathering since the event began.[5]
