The Guardian (Anglican newspaper)

For other uses, see Guardian (disambiguation).

The Guardian was a weekly Anglican newspaper published from 1846 to 1951. It was founded by Richard William Church, Thomas Henry Haddan, and other supporters of the Tractarian movement and was for many years the leading newspaper of the Church of England.

It should not be confused with the present British newspaper called The Guardian, which was the Manchester Guardian until 1959.
