The Excelsior (Hong Kong)

Excelsior Hotel

The Excelsior (Chinese: 怡東酒店) is a hotel located at Lot No.1 (280-282 Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong), which was the first plot of land sold at auction after Hong Kong became a British Colony in 1841.[1] The Noon-day Gun, built in 1973, is located opposite the hotel.[2]

The hotel, which was the first in Hong Kong to have more than 1000 rooms, is now owned and operated by Mandarin Oriental, and serves as the group's headquarters.[3]
