The song and its instrumental version were released as a double-sided digital single on June 13, 2013 under the record labels of S.M. Entertainment and KT Music. "The 2nd Drawer" was the first soundtrack for the MBC TV drama series The Queen's Classroom to be revealed, followed by "Green Rain" from fellow label-mates Shinee.

Production and release

The song is composed and arranged by the music producer Ji Pyung Kwon.[1] Sunny's record label agency S.M. Entertainment revealed that the song is the theme for child actress Kim Hyang-gi's character Shim Ha-na on MBC TV drama series The Queen's Classroom.[2] While the TV drama series started airing on June 12, 2013, the song was released the very next day in South Korea through various online music portal sites including Daum, Naver, iTunes and Soribada.

Music video

On June 18, 2013, an accompanying music video of Sunny's "The 2nd Drawer" was uploaded on the official channel of S.M. Entertainment on YouTube.
