Texas Light Foot Militia
The Texas Light Foot Militia (TLFM) is a privately organized militia in the state of Texas. The TLFM was organized in the light foot model after the Idaho Light Foot Militia, which was founded in 2009.[1]
Training
Training for members of the Texas Light Foot Militia includes basic marksmanship, including rifle and pistol, field communication, first aid, small unit movements, land navigation, survivalism, and camouflage. Skills are measured on a scale of three levels: Skill Level 1, Skill Level 2, and Skill Level 3. The qualifications of each level are more difficult than the previous level.[2]
Activities
In July 2015, the 423rd Battalion of the Texas Light Foot Militia deployed members to stand guard outside of a military recruiting office in Tyler, Texas following the 2015 Chattanooga shootings.[3]
