Tetyana Arefyeva (Ukrainian: Тетяна Арефиева) is a Ukrainian tennis player. She began tennis at the age of 6 and is coached by Igor Dernovskyy. She mainly plays on the ITF Women's Circuit.
2005
Tetyana played her first professional tournament at the $10,000 tournament in Kiev. She received a wildcard into the tournament. She managed to take a set of off her opponent before losing in three sets 1–6, 6–1, 6–2.
2006
Tetyana played in Kiev once more, this time advancing past the first round, before losing to Agnese Zucchini 6–1, 0–6, 6–3. She also played in Kharkiv and Volos. She qualified for Kharkiv and received a wildcard into Volos. She played in the qualifying draws of all the ITF Cairo tournaments. She fell in qualifying for all three of them. But she managed to win two doubles matches in Cairo.
2007
Tetyana played lots more tournaments on the ITF Circuits, even reaching a quarter final at Tampere in Finland. She finished the year ranked at 769. In doubles Tetyana along with Elena Jirnova reached the final at Gausdal in Norway but they lost in the final to two Slovenian players in a tight match 6–7(3), 7–5, 3–6.
2008
In February 2008 Tetyana won her first ITF title at Melilla in Spain. She also reached finals in Astana and Athens but she lost in the final to Alice Moroni and Zarina Diyas respectively. She also reached a final in Arezzo but lost 7–5, 6–1. She ended the year ranked 613 in singles and 727 in doubles.
2009
In 2009 Tetyana became 18 and began to soar up the rankings with a series of successful results. In Portimão in Portugal she reached the semi final defeating Stéphanie Vongsouthi en route. She lost to Sandra Soler-Sola in the semi final 4–6, 6–1, 6–0.
In the $50,000 event in Khanti-Mansiysk she managed to qualify despite being ranked far below most of the other players. She lost in the final round of qualifying but received main draw entry via a lucky loser entry. She then went on to back-to-back finals at Antalya-Belek and Almaty She lost in Turkey to Irini Georgatou but won Almaty, defeating Daria Kuchmina. At the $25,000 event in Namangan, Uzbekistan Tetyana managed to reach the final by defeating Ksenia Palkina, Çağla Büyükakçay and Sofia Kvatsabaia. She lost in the final however to Kristina Antoniychuk 6–0, 6–1. She will play in the Kharkiv tournament in a few weeks time.
