List of Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2015 TV series) characters
This is a list of characters from Transformers: Robots in Disguise (the 2015 animated follow-up to Transformers: Prime).
Autobots
- Bumblebee (voiced by Will Friedle[1]) - The main protagonist of the series. As the leader of the Autobot team on Earth, he is constantly obsessed with living up to Optimus' expectations when leading his team, especially when he is trying to keep order in the group. A running gag of the series is when he is trying to create a catchy rallying cry, which often results in them being bad puns or just lame in general. His alt mode is similar to a Camaro.
- Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen[1]) - The last of the Primes, the former leader of the Autobots and Bumblebee's mentor. Originally thought to have died after the events of Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising, he was later resurrected by the Primes of the past to help stop an evil that would result in the destruction of both Earth and Cybertron. His alt mode is a semi-truck with trailer.
- Sideswipe (voiced by Darren Criss[1]) - The rebellious "bad boy" of the team. Incompetent and sometimes lazy, he often risks missions, even the lives of his own teammates, all for the sake of his boredom. He makes up for it with his speed and agility. He is also known to be claustrophobic. His alt mode is a street racing ready sports car.
- Strongarm (voiced by Constance Zimmer[1]) - A cadet in the Cybertronian Elite Guard and Bumblebee's subordinate. She often worries about abiding by the law and following protocol which in some cases jeopardizes the mission. She is essentially the complete opposite of Sideswipe and the two often jab at each other. Her alt mode is a police modified SUV.
- Fixit (voiced by Mitchell Whitfield[1]) - A hyperactive yet faulty-wired Mini-Con who originally served as the steward and guard of the Alchemor, who later serves as the Autobot's caretaker and medic. He also provides the identification of the escaped Decepticons and reports their location. He develops a close friendship with Russell and Denny as he is rarely out in the field. Because Fixit is so small, he doesn't have a proper vehicle mode, and instead turns into a variety of tools.
- Grimlock (voiced by Khary Payton[1]) - A Dinobot who transforms into a mechanical Tyrannosaurus serves as the team's muscle. Originally imprisoned on the Alchemor as a Decepticon for committing property damages, he later becomes an Autobot after gaining the team's trust when taking down Underbite. He is not very bright and often attempts to solve problems with his fists rather than strategy.
- Jazz (voiced by Arif S. Kinchen[1]) - A friend of Bumblebee and Sideswipe's idol who came to Earth after receiving the distress signal from the Alchemor after it crashed. He is the only Autobot in the first season who doesn't stay on Earth. His alt mode is a race car.
- Drift (voiced by Eric Bauza[1]) - An Autobot bounty hunter who originally came to Earth to collect the bounty placed on Bumblebee. He later joins the team along with his two Mini-Con students to study under Bumblebee. His figure is that of a samurai, generally doing things the honorable way, which includes fighting fairly (much to his disadvantage). This incarnation of Drift is a Mini-Con deployer and turns into a samurai like car.
- Slipstream (voiced by Roger Craig Smith[1]) - One of Drift's Mini-Con students. He was an ex-con before being taken in by Drift.
- Jetstorm (voiced by Roger Craig Smith[1]) - One of Drift's Mini-Con students. He was an ex-con before being taken in by Drift.
- Windblade (voiced by Kristy Wu[2]) - A charming yet self-centered female Autobot who joins the team later in the first season. She was sent by Primus to help fight against the evil which would result in Earth's and Cybertron's destruction. She transforms into a plane, making her the only Autobot capable of flight.
Decepticons
Most of the Decepticons in this series were originally prisoners on the prison ship Alchemor and beast modes or have animal motifs in their robot mode. At the beginning of the series, the Alchemor crashes because of Megatronus and the Decepticon prisoners are freed. It is now the mission of Bumblebee's team to re-capture them.
- Steeljaw (voiced by Troy Baker[1]) - A gray wolf-like Decepticon who generally serves as the main antagonist of the first season. Steeljaw was imprisoned on Alchemor for trying to incite a rebellion. He wishes to rule Earth as a safe and peaceful haven for Decepticons. His alt mode is a wolf snout-like off-road vehicle. Steeljaw leads his own team throughout the first season to defeat the Autobots and further his plans. He's also revealed to be hot-headed, as he, like Megatron, doesn't tolerate mission failures. He also doesn't tolerate betrayals, as he got angry when Thunderhoof tried to kill Clampdown. He later joins forces with Megatronus in hopes to control Earth for himself, only to get enraged after Megatronus revealed to Steeljaw he lied. During the battle and after it, Steeljaw was nowhere to be seen. It's possible he vanished during the battle and retreated to his headquarters, upset about being tricked and his comrades being arrested.
- Underbite (voiced by Liam O'Brien[1]) - A Texan accented Decepticon Chompazoid who looks like a Gorgonopsia. He was imprisoned on Alchemor for devouring Nuon City. Underbite eats metal to become more powerful. He is the first Decepticon the Autobots encounter on Earth. Underbite is captured but escapes with the help of Steeljaw and later joins his team. Underbite transforms into a futuristic Cybertronian tank-like vehicle. When he fought Grimlock, the Dinobot tricked him into eating some plastic, which made him sick. He is later captured again at the end of Season 1.
- Hammerstrike (voiced by David Kaye[1]) - A Sharkticon pirate who wishes to rule Earth's seas. Hammerstrike turns into a submarine. He is later captured by the Autobots.
- Bisk (voiced by Khary Payton[1]) - A lobster-like Decepticon who transforms into a muscle car. He is quickly captured by the Autobots.
- Chop Shop (voiced by David Hunt[1]) - A Decepticon combiner who is able to split his body into five spider-like Mini-Cons. He is later captured by the Autobots, with the exception of one part which later allows him to briefly escape.
- Terrashock (voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson[1]) - A Buffaloid (a bison-like Cybertronian) that was originally found by humans and brought to the city museum. He is an enforcer for the Decepticon Contrail prior to his incarceration on Alchemor. Terrashock turns into an armored truck. He is later captured by the Autobots.
- Thunderhoof (voiced by Frank Stallone in a New York accent[1]) - An elk-like Decepticon and a former crime boss back on Cybertron and was incarcerated on Alchemor after Clampdown tipped off the authorities. He later joins Steeljaw's team. Thunderhoof transforms into a tractor with a thresh attachment. Thunderhoof was later recaptured at the end of Season 1.
- Filch (voiced by Constance Zimmer[1]) - A Corvicon (a crow-like Decepticon) who has an obsession to collect anything shiny. Filch can transform into a crow. She is later captured by the Autobots.
- Minitron - A Cyber-Tick who controls Cybertronians by biting them. He worked for Steeljaw to possess Grimlock and is later captured by the Autobots.
- Springload (voiced by John Steven Rocha[1]) - An insane Amphiboid (a frog-like Cybertronian) who is obsessed with finding the city of Doradus (though everyone claims it a myth). Springload can transform into a compact pickup truck. He is built with acidic skin as a defense mechanism. Springload was incarcerated on Alchemor for attacking the museum staff and guards. Springload is soon captured by the Autobots and briefly escapes his stasis pod along with Quillfire, only to be captured again.
- Ped (voiced by Eddie Deezen[1]) - A worm-like Decepticon that was apparently bullied by others of his kind. Ped has the ability to create sinkholes when underground. He can transform into a tanker truck. Ped is later captured by the Autobots.
- Quillfire (voiced by Andy Milder[1]) - A porcupine-resembling Decepticon anarchist whose weapons consist of toxic quills. Quillfire turns into an armored pick-up truck that is similar to Bulkhead. He is later captured by the Autobots and briefly escapes his stasis pod along with Springload, only to be captured again.
- Fracture (voiced by Kevin Pollak[1]) - A Decepticon bounty hunter and Drift's rival who came to Earth to collect the bounty placed on Bumblebee. He later joins Steeljaw's team, only to be captured at the end of Season 1.
- Clampdown (voiced by Jim Cummings[1]) - A cowardly crab-like Decepticon that turns into a ricer-style racer coupe. As an informant on Cybertron, Clampdown will rat anyone out to get out of jail including Thunderhoof. Clampdown eventually ended up on Alchemor for trying to blackmail a member of the Autobot High Council.
- Skunkticons - A group of striped skunk-like Decepticons that spray a liquid chemical out of their tails that blinds their target. They are led by Malodor and are soon captured by the Autobots.
- Malodor (voiced by Daniel Roebuck)[3] - The leader of the Skunkticons.
- Nightstrike (voiced by Tom Kenny)[4] - A vampire bat-like Decepticon who uses sound waves to entice the worst fears of his prey and suck their Energon. He is soon captured by the Autobots.
- Vertebreak (voiced by Charlie Schlatter)[5] - A snake-like Decepticon and a mad scientist who was imprisoned on Alchemor for his illegal cyber-grafting experiments. He can transform into a train. Vertebreak removes Sideswipe's head and uses his body for his own nefarious purposes. He is later captured by the Autobots.
- Octopunch (voiced by Ted Biaselli)[6] - An octopus-like Decepticon. He crashes ships so he can raid them. Octopunch can transform into a submarine. He is soon captured by the Autobots.
- Groundpounder (voiced by John DiMaggio)[7] - A gorilla-like Decepticon and former Cybertronian gladiator (to which Fixit is a fan of). Groundpounder was arrested for going on a rampage after being accused of cheating and was incarcerated on Alchemor. He can transform into an excavator. He is soon captured by the Autobots.
- Headlock (voiced by Eric Bauza)[8] - Groundpounder's devious coach and the real reason behind Groundpounder's cheating. He is captured by the Autobots along with Groundpounder.
- Kickback (voiced by Liam O'Brien)[9] - A grasshopper-themed Insecticon that Steeljaw once used as bait. He can transform into a race car. Following the fight against Steeljaw's group, Kickback got away.
- Scowl (voiced by Mark Hildreth)[10] - A Dinobot who transforms into a mechanical Ankylosaurus. He was a former mob enforcer of Thunderhoof. Much like Grimlock who briefly befriended him, Scowl likes to smash things for his own entertainment. He is later captured by the Autobots after being defeated by Grimlock.
- Razorpaw - A puma-like Decepticon who is quickly apprehended by Windblade when she first appears.
- Zizza (voiced by Jackée Harry)[11] - A queen bee-like Decepticon who uses a toxin to control the minds of her victims. Zizza was incarcerated on Alchemor for mind-controlling Cybertronians into doing her bidding. She is later captured by the Autobots.
- Pseudo (voiced by Eric Bauza)[12] - An insectoid-themed Decepticon Shifter and spy with the ability to shape-shift into anything or anyone he desires. He is later captured by the Autobots.
- Overload (voiced by Travis Willingham) - A Deception who will serve as the main antagonist of the second season. He can transform into a tank.
- Backtrack - Overload's Mini-Con partner. He can transform into a sphere.
- Ransack - Overload's Mini-Con partner.
Note: The Decepticons that are previously captured by the Autobots shown above are expected to return in Season 2, if most of them will be, since that it is now been confirmed that Steeljaw has finally successfully freed them and formed his own army.
Thirteen
The Thirteen are the original Cybertronians that were created by Primus during his fight with Unicron. Most of the Thirteen currently reside in the Realm of the Primes.
- Megatronus / The Fallen (voiced by Gil Gerard)[13] - One of the original Primes of Cybertron who turned his back on the others and later became the first Decepticon. Originally banished to another realm, he successfully escaped his imprisonment with the help of Steeljaw and his team, where he planned to take the remains of Unicron's Anti-Spark from Earth's core and combine it with the AllSpark from Cybertron (destroying both worlds in the process) to control the universe. His plan fails, and is presumably killed in the process. He is of no relation to Megatron, despite his name being used as Megatron's former name before the war of Cybertron.
- Micronus Prime (voiced by Adrian Pasdar) - The first Mini-Con who trains Optimus Prime to help him prepare for the fight against Megatronus in the Valley of the Primes.
- Vector Prime (voiced by Troy Baker) - A member of the Thirteen who is the guardian of time and space. He empowered Optimus Prime enough to leave the Realm of the Primes to help fight Megatronus.
Humans
- Russell Clay (voiced by Stuart Allan[1]) - A 10-year-old boy who was sent by his mother to live with his father, Denny. He first encounters Sideswipe which leads him and his father to befriend the Autobots. He is headstrong and constantly begs to join the team on their missions. He is also an avid watcher of horror movies. His father often gives him the nickname "Rusty".
- Denny Clay (voiced by Ted McGinley[1]) - Russell's father who own a scrapyard of collectible items which becomes the Autobot's base of operations. He is also handy with tools and construction which allows him to work alongside Fixit, who in turn allows him to study Cybertronian technology. He also runs interference with the Autobots, using several disguises to help prevent other humans from discovering the Autobot's and Decepticon's existence.
- Henrietta "Hank" (voiced by Bailey Gambertoglio[1]) - A neighborhood girl whom Russell befriends while trying to find others to socialize. She is a fan of football and plays it along with her other friends, including Russell.
- Larry LaRue (voiced by John Katovsich[1]) - A greedy collector who will stop at nothing to obtain various items. He apparently has a history with Denny.
