Teric or Terich or Tirich is a village and an administrative unit, known as a Union Council, of Chitral District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, Union Council code 40770.[1] It is the nearest populated place to the Tirich Mir mountain.
Demography
The inhabitants of the village are Dards, Indo-Aryan people believed to have originally migrated to Tirich from Central Asia. The ethnic groups represented include Khowari, Burusho, Khoshey, Tajiki, Shina, Wakhi and a small number of Persians.
The population is 4,201, consisting of 39% male and 61% female.
