Technion International (TI) administers international programs and supports international initiatives of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. It serves all of the university’s incoming and currently enrolled international students, and promotes their interaction with and integration into the Technion community at large. Technion International also oversees all collaborative academic relationships with foreign partner institutions worldwide. TI began its first year in 2009, and now offers a full BSc. program in Civil and Environmental Engineering as well as a Freshman Year of Engineering, M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs and various study abroad and summer programs, taught in English.[1] Technion students arrive from all corners of the globe – Asia, Africa, North and South America, Europe and Israel.[2] Students can live on the university’s modern campus and enjoy a rich varietyof cultural and social activities. They also have access to top notchrecreational facilities including an on campus movie theatre and pub, a fullservice gym offering a variety of weekly athletic and fitness classes, and anOlympic-sized pool. International students enrolled in academic programs areinvited to a special orientation and go on sightseeing trips around Israel throughout the year.
TI Programs
Undergraduate Degree
The B.Sc. in Civil Engineering is a full four year degree, designed for students who wish to study in Israel in an international atmosphere. The program prepares future engineers to meet the 21st century’s infrastructure creation and modernization challenges. Students will be exposed to economical and management aspects of environmental and resource preservation, and learn how to be proactive in developing clean technologies and infrastructure, and implementing renewable resource alternatives. Taught completely in English, this program grants students from around the world access to a distinguished faculty, prominent researchers and industry leaders. Students begin with a four-month preparation period focused on mathematics and physics, which prepares them for their challenging studies ahead. In 2013, the first cohort graduated from the Technion.
Semester Abroad
The Semester Abroad program is intended for university students from all over the world who wish to study at Technion for a semester.Classes are offered in the faculties of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biotechnology Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering and Management. Students can choose to study during the Winter (October – February) and or Spring semester (March – July). While at Technion, students are welcome to participate in all social activities offered by TI.
Summer Abroad
TI offers the following Summer Programs:
Entrepreneurship with Industry Project combines academic studies and hands-on encounters with Israel’s high-tech business ecosystem. Students experience the country’s "Start-Up Nation" mentality and work on an intensive Industry Project.
Technion Summer Program of Engineering and Science, is a special program that lets students choose between 1 to 2 advanced courses in the fields of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering and Mathematics. It is intended for senior Undergraduate and Graduate students.
Pre University Programs
SciTech is a 4-week-long technology research camp for gifted high school students from all over the world. Students use Technion's state-of-the-art facilities and labs to work on their various projects. The curriculum combines scientific research experience with cultural and social activities.
Start up Summer Camp is a 4-week-long summer camp for young entrepreneurs.
Graduate Degrees
Master (M.E) in Systems Engineering is a unique interdisciplinary degree for experienced professionals. It is a 15-month intensive program designed for engineersfrom various disciplines interested in expanding upon their existing analyticalabilities.
ChemTech is a new international graduate program in Chemistry was designed to teachstudents the most modern scientific research methods. Students will take part in intensive full-time research M.Sc. and/or Ph.D. study tracks in all modern fields of chemistry, and will be guided by world-leading faculty. Read more
Technion’s Physics Department offers a Physics Postgraduate Program for highly qualified international graduate students,including an M.Sc. and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. The faculty places a strong emphasis on exposing students to cutting-edge research. Students interact closely with faculty and can choose the field in which they wish towork from a broad range, including astrophysics, biophysics, condensedmatter physics, high energy physics, optical physics, plasma physics, andstring theory. The Start-uP MBA is anintensive full-year Masters of Business Administration program providing essential training in management functions,underscoring the skills needed for entrepreneurs who are interested inlaunching their start-up company or promoting entrepreneurship and innovationin their organizations.
