The Tavares, Eustis & Gulf Railroad is a tourist railroad located in the northern portion of Central Florida. It is a subsidiary of the Reader Railroad located in Arkansas.
Trains
The Orange Blossom Cannonball is either a one-hour round-trip ride from Tavares Station in downtown Tavares to Ellsworth Junction, or a two hour round trip from Tavares to Lake Jem.
Equipment
- No. 2: 1907 Baldwin 2-6-0 steam locomotive. Only operational standard gauge steam locomotive in Florida and the oldest operational steam locomotive in the state of any gauge.[1]
- Herbie: 1941 GE 45-ton center cab diesel locomotive.
- No. 33: 1941 GE 45-ton identical to Herbie.
