Kiah & Tara Jean
Kiah & Tara Jean is a Canadian radio show hosted by Kiah Tucker and Tara Jean Stevens (née Wilkin). It launched on Virgin Radio 953 in Vancouver, British Columbia, an Astral Media radio station. The show began on August 4, 2009. In the spring of 2012, Stevens left the program for maternity leave. As of June 2012 Tucker was no longer broadcasting on Virgin. After a brief stint with CKPK-FM ("The Peak") as its morning presenter, Tucker joined 96.9 JACKfm as its morning presenter.[1][2] He was later joined by Stevens and together they launched their new show on November 23, 2012: "Jack's Morning Glory with Kiah & Tara Jean".[3]
Kiah Tucker
Kiah Tucker is an Australian radio announcer who has worked with Australian radio stations Mix 102.3,[4] 5AU Port Augusta, SAFM,[5] Triple M[6] 5AU Port Augusta, SAFM,[7] Triple M, and Hot 91.[8]
In 2006, Tucker moved to London, England, and worked in television production on a range of programs with Prospect UK and Silver River Productions.[9][10] In 2007 he moved to Vancouver, Canada, and began on-air at radio station 95 Crave(now Z95.3) the same year. Tucker is also an accomplished voice artist, having performed radio and television voiceovers for Pokerstars.net, Australian Airlines and others.[11]
Tucker is a graduate of the Kathryn Dean School of Media and Performing Arts, having completed the Advanced Diploma in Journalism in 2000.[12]
Tara Jean Stevens
Tara Jean Stevens (née Wilkin) is a Vancouver radio broadcaster. She is a graduate of Columbia Academy School of Broadcast Arts. Stevens has worked for radio stations: CKZZ, CKWX, and CISQ-FM.[13][14]
Stevens is also an actress and award-winning playwright.[15] In June 2006, she won the 'Sydney Risk Prize for Outstanding Script by an Emerging Playwright' for her play "My Father's House".[16] In September 2006, she was featured in The Georgia Straight’s ‘Fall Arts Review’.[17] In 2005, she was one of the Vancouver Sun's "25 TO WATCH IN 2005".[18] Stevens is a graduate of the acting program at Studio 58 at Langara College.[19]
Stevens graduated in 1997 from Charles Hays Secondary School in Prince Rupert, BC.[20]
Awards
In May 2012, Tucker and Stevens were awarded the 2011 "Broadcast Performer of the Year" award from the British Columbia Association of Broadcasters.[21]
In May 2010, Tucker and Stevens were awarded the 2009 "Broadcast Performer of the Year" award from the British Columbia Association of Broadcasters.[22]
In fall 2010, the New York Festivals announced that the show was a finalist for the "World’s Best Radio Programs" in the category of "Best Personality: Local Market".[23]
Pranks
On Tuesday, September 16th, 2014, "JACK's Morning Glory with Kiah & Tara Jean" posted a fake ad on Craigslist. In it, they claimed to be a Vancouver man attempting to sell a jar of Kevin Spacey's breath. The post went viral in many countries around the world. On Friday, September 19th, 2014, Kiah Tucker and Tara Jean Stevens claimed responsibility for the prank on-air and online. [24]
