TVB Jade (無綫電視翡翠台) is a flagship TV channel in Hong Kong, established by Television Broadcasts Limited, and is one of the free-to-air Hong Kong Cantonese television channels in Hong Kong, the other being its arch-rival ATV Home. It broadcasts 24 hours a day, with a wide range of entertainment-led programming, such as comedy, anime, variety shows, popular drama, and chat shows. Along with its sister Hong Kong English station, TVB Pearl, TVB Jade is broadcast from TVB City at 77 Chun Choi Street in Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate in Tseung Kwan O, in the Sai Kung District, which is in the Eastern region of Hong Kong's New Territories. The channel first started broadcasting on 19 November 1967, with most of the programmes in Cantonese. For over 15 years, some programmes have been broadcast simultaneously in Mandarin, English and other foreign languages, by using the stereo NICAM system in analogue version, or multiple AC-3 streams in digital version. Most of TVB Jade's programmes are widely distributed around the world, and as can be seen in the following section, it is the overwhelmingly most popular television channel in Hong Kong.
Since the launch of digital terrestrial television on 31 December 2007, some programmes on TVB Jade have been simulcast with TVB HD Jade, TVB's first 24-hour broadcasting channel in high definition until 22 February 2016, the simulcast period has been ended at 3.00 AM.
The transmission of TVB Jade digital TV channel have been upgraded from SDTV to HDTV video format on 18/03/2013 at 03:00.

TVB Jade's on-air identity is similar in principle to its European counterparts, but also has great differences. A typical TVB ident package typically consists of only one to two idents (the record is four), and does not have a unifying theme (with the exception of the "seasons" ident that was aired during the early 1990s).
