The TSS Duke of York was a steamer passenger ship operated by the London and North Western Railway from 1894 to 1911. [1]
She was built on the River Clyde in 1894 by Sir Archibald Denny of William Denny and Brothers (usually just called Dennys).[2]
In 1911 she was purchased by the Turkish Patriotic Committee but they failed to take delivery. She was then sold to the Isle of Man Steam Packet company and operated as RMS Peel Castle from 1912 to 1939.
In 1914 she was requisitioned and used as an Armed Boarding Steamer until 1919.
She was scrapped in 1939.
