TREXCO, INC. is a professional services company specializing in business development and export management for the food and confectionery industries. With an established and continuously expanding network of importers and distributors in Latin America and the Caribbean, TREXCO assists overseas manufacturers in expanding their international business into those regions.[1][2][3] From its corporate headquarters in Florida, TREXCO has convenient access to all major markets. All of TREXCO's key employees are native Spanish speakers who are familiar with the peculiarities of individual Latin American and Caribbean countries, their cultural differences and business mentality.
Name
The name of the firm, TREXCO, is an acronym.

History
In 1998, Jaime Sigal, a native of Mexico formed TREXCO in Miami, Florida. Instead of accepting offers for partnerships at that time from two manufacturing professionals, he decided to go alone. In early 1999 he invited long time acquaintance Jorge Soto from Uruguay to join him. In the beginning they served just a handful of countries. Today, as a full-service Export Management Company (EMC), TREXCO is active in 21 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

As an Export Management Company, TREXCO, Inc. serves major manufacturers:
- Trolli Ibérica: Trolli is the brand name of the Germany based Mederer Group, second largest gummi candy producer in the world. Founded in 1948, the privately held group encompasses modern production facilities in Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic and China; it has 1,700 employees. Annual production capacity is 100,000 metric tonnes. Trolli Iberica S.A. was formed in 1994 with offices and production facilities in Valencia, Spain; in 1995, Trolli Bohemia s.r.o. was set up as a packaging facility.
- efrutti: the specialist for 'premium fruit gummies', Efrutti was integrated into the Mederer Group in 1998. This was aimed towards a broadening of premium quality gummy products. With already two production sites in Boizenburg and Hagenow, Gummi Bear Factory was taken over (2000) in order to ensure production and supply at level with the continued increasing demand for TROLLI products.
- Perfetti Van Melle: The Perfetti Van Melle company bears the names of its founders, the brothers Ambrogio and Egidio Perfetti, and Izaak van Melle. In 1946 and 1900 respectively, they set up their own pioneer industrial sugar confectionery factories in Lainate, Italy and Breskens, Netherlands. Perfetti acquired Van Melle in 2001, creating one of the largest confectionery companies in the world. In 2006 Perfetti Van Melle reached an agreement with Spanish manufacturer Chupa Chups to acquire 100% of that company. Still privately owned today, Perfetti Van Melle operates 35 companies, including 27 manufacturing facilities around the world.
- Heartland Sweeteners: A private company located in Carmel, Indiana and founded by Ted Gelov. The company produces and markets no-calorie sweeteners to retail and food service markets under the names of Nevella and Ideal as well as under private label. The main ingredients used are sucralose and xylitol respectively. In April 2008 Lexington Pharmaceuticals, also owned by Ted Gelov, filed new patents for a novel sucralose process. Heartland's products are distributed throughout North America with efforts currently underway to expand into Europe and Latin America.
- Bazooka Candy Brands: A Division of The Topps Company, Inc., Bazooka Candy Brands manufactures and markets the popular lollipop brands Ring Pops, Push Pops, Baby Bottle Pops and other candy and gum products, including the iconic Bazooka Bubble Gum. Parent company Topps is an international marketer of entertainment products, principally collectible trading cards, sticker collections, and collectible strategy games. The Topps Company was founded in 1938 as Topps Chewing Gum, and in its early years produced a popular penny "Topps Gum" from a factory in Brooklyn, N.Y. After World War II, the company developed Bazooka Bubble Gum, and in 1950, added trading cards to its product line. Baseball cards appeared in 1951 and quickly became a vital part of pop culture, a tradition that continues to this day. The product line now includes football (both American and European) and basketball, in addition to entertainment cards, stickers and albums.
- Bauli: Bauli originates from the craftsmanship of Ruggero Bauli, a native of Verona, Italy. After returning from Argentina in 1937, where he had lived for ten years, he set up Verona's first confectionery shop. Shortly after World War II Ruggero Bauli began making Pandoro, a traditional Veronese Christmas cake. He employed some twenty workers at that time. During the 1960s his three sons Alberto, Carlo and Adriano joined him in the running of the business. In the years following the company expanded by acquiring Doria, a manufacturer of biscuits and F.B.F. S.p.A., makers of croissants and doughnuts. Today, the Bauli Group has four production sites and employs about 1,200 people. Turnover in 2007 reached 280 Million Euros. Bauli products are exported to more than 70 countries.
- Destrooper-Olivier: The company “Belgian Butters” was established in 1986 by Mr Luc Destrooper and Mrs Christiane Olivier. To this day, it is still a family business. The second generation Mr Bert Destrooper takes care of its international growth. “Belgian Butters,” the best quality biscuits “Made in Belgium,” made with love and craftsmanship and with only the best ingredients like real butter, cream, fruit and real Belgian chocolate.
- Hamlet: Hamlet’s strength lies in the development of new products, attractive packing and tempting concepts. The company has a modern, daring vision, based upon half a century of experience and craftsmanship. They have experienced a strong growth in the last few years. - Doumak: Doumak Inc. is an Illinois company founded in 1961 by Alex Doumak. The company produces marshmallows and holds a patent for the extrusion process by which they are manufactured. Doumak Inc. began its marshmallow-making journey in 1921, producing cast mold marshmallows in Los Angeles, CA. In 1954, Alex Doumakes invented and patented the extrusion process of manufacturing marshmallows. This breakthrough innovation allowed the mass production of marshmallows in a cost-efficient manner. Marshmallows went from being an expensive confection to an everyday sweet treat and favorite ingredient for many recipes. In 1961, the Doumakes family moved the company to its current location outside Chicago, IL. In 2003, Doumak acquired the Campfire® brand and the Rocky Mountain® brand and opened its second manufacturing facility in the Chicago area.
- Inventure Foods: Inventure Foods, Inc. engages in the development, production, marketing, and distribution of snack food products and frozen berry products to grocery retailers, mass merchandisers, club stores, convenience stores, and vend distributors in the United States and internationally. The company manufactures and markets various healthy/natural and indulgent specialty snack food products under its own and licensed brand names.
