TEN Cricket is a 24-hour sports channel dedicated to cricket. The channel is owned by Zee Network India. TEN Cricket was launched on 10 August 2010. Reaching over 55 million homes across the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia and Arab world. TEN Cricket is one of the three channels broadcast by the network, the others being TEN Golf, TEN Sports and TEN Action.[1] The channel has live broadcast rights of all international cricket held in Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies.
An international version of the channel was launched in the United States for the South Asian population, it is called "Zee Sports Americas" and was available through Dish Network. However, on 13 April 2011 Zee Sports Americas ceased operations and was replaced by TEN Cricket. On 30 May 2013 TEN Cricket was removed due to a carriage dispute. Most of the network's live coverage migrated to Willow.
On 15 August 2013, TEN Cricket launched in Canada on Rogers Cable via an agreement with Canadian broadcaster Ethnic Channels Group. On 22 August 2013, the channel launched on Bell Fibe TV.
Transmission
The TAJ TV Network transmits three localized beams via the Intelsat 10 Satellite targeting subcontinent (including Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh, South-East Asia (including Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea) and Arab World. Each beam is customized in terms of programming, scheduling, graphics, music, on-air promotions and marketing.
