TART Artist Collective
tART is a feminist artist collective based in New York City, that has been in existence since 2004. Members maintain their individual art practices and create a close community through collaborations, the sharing of ideas, information and resources, as well as attending studio visits. The group also produces 'zines, workshops, discussions and community engagement beyond the collective - often in conjunction with exhibitions.[1]
Overview
Initially tART provided its members with a way to meet and discuss being female artists in a male dominated art world. Studio visits are a way that the members support each other's efforts and give insightful feedback on studio practices.
