Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002
Switzerland entered the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 with Francine Jordi and the song "Dans le jardin de mon âme".
National final
The Swiss broadcaster, SRG SSR idée suisse, hosted a national final to select the Swiss entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2002, held in Tallinn, Estonia. Switzerland were returning to the contest after being relegated from the 2001 contest after Jane Bogaert with "La vita cos'e" came 20th.
The contest was held at the Garage Music in Bellinzona on 2 February, hosted by Milena Martelli.. Eight songs competed, with the winner decided through two rounds of telkevoting, the first to select the top three, with the second selecting the winner.
The winner of the contest was Francine Jordi with the song "Dans le jardin de mon âme", receiving 41.1% of the final televote. She went on to represent Switzerland in Tallinn.
Result
From the first round of eight songs, three songs would qualify for the final vote. The three qualifying songs were "Dans le jardin de mon âme" ("In the garden of my soul") by Francine Jordi, "Cosa" ("What") by Mary and "Die Engel tanzen um
Mitternacht per te" ("The angels dance at midnight for you"). The results of these three songs were not revealed, but the results for the other five songs were revealed.

At Eurovision
Jordi sang for Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002, performing 12th in the running order, following Israel and preceding Sweden. She received 15 points at the close of the voting, 5 points from Austria, 3 points from France and Romania, 2 points from Germany and 1 point from Slovenia and Latvia, placing 22nd in a field of 24 and relegating Switzerland from the 2003 contest.
