Swamp Creatures was a play by Alan Seymour. It was Seymour's first produced play.
It was performed by the Canberra Repertory Society and was a finalist in the London Observer's 1957 play competition.[1][2][3]
It was based on a true story about an old woman who lived near a swamp and disappeared.[4]
Adaptations
It was filmed for TV by the ABC in 1962[5] and again in 1980.[6] The 1980 production was directed by Raymond Menmuir.
