Surat Railway Station, station code ST,[1] is a Railway Station serving Surat city, beside Gothangam, Kosad, Uttran, Udhna Junction, Bhestan, Niol and Sachin railway station serving Surat city, the second largest city in the Indian state of Gujarat. Surat Railway Station is also(1st in Gujarat &) 2nd most earning Railway Station after Mumbai of Mumbai Division, Western Railways. It is under the administrative control of Western Railway zone of the Indian Railways. It is on the Ahmedabad Railway Station-Vadodara-Mumbai rail route. The railway station was built in 1860. It is connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kanpur, Nagpur and all the major stations in India by a number of trains.


Jaipur Superfast Express,[2] Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express, Karnavati Express, Paschim Express, Bandra Surat Intercity Express, Indore - Mumbai Avantika Express,[3] Indore - Pune Express, Indore - Surat Express, August Kranti Rajdhani Express,[4] Valsad - Kanpur via. Bhopal Express, Valsad - Sonpur via. Jabalpur Express, Gujarat Express and Mumbai-Porbandar Saurashtra Express pass through this station. Recently Surat was introduced as an halt for Mumbai Rajdhani Express.

Advance Railway Ticketing System is installed at the station to issue unreserved tickets in advance. Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) is also available. Going north, Utran Railway Station is the nearest railhead. Udhna Junction Railway Station is to the south of Surat.
