Summer Fields School is a private nursery-through-secondary school in Kailash Colony, New Delhi, India. The school was founded in 1953 by James Douglas Tytler. It is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, and is a member of the National Progressive Schools' Conference. Summer Fields School is operated under the K. R. Mangalam group of schools. The school's motto is 'Love-Life-Light'. The school has had a long run and is one of the most sought after schools in New Delhi. The school celebrated its Golden Jubilee in the year 2003.
History
After 1947 DLF Universal began developing the residential areas of south Delhi. During the development of Kailash Colony, to attract people to come and live in this part of Delhi, DLF approached Rev. James Douglas Tytler, an educationist, to start a school in the area.
He also started the first Delhi Public School (Naveen Bharat School) and Church High School. His work with the refugees was commended by the then Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. Later on, he and Dr. Zakir Hussain, who was a teacher then, became great friends. His son Jagdish Tytler was the first student to be enrolled in the school.

House system
Junior
Students of class III, IV and V are grouped into six houses:
- Vivekananda
- Nehru
- Gandhi
- Teresa
- Tagore
- Radhakrishnan
Each house is headed by a chief warden with 3-4 wardens. Each house is assigned duties to take care of discipline of the school once in each term. There is one boy and girl captain of each house who assist chief warden/wardens of their respective houses in maintaining discipline during assembly time, break time and at the time of departure.
House on duty takes care of Morning Talk and General Topics during the assembly.

Every student on admission is placed in one of these houses.
Each house is headed by one boy and one girl known as house captains who are assisted by house prefects and junior house prefects. A member of the staff assisted by several other teachers acts as the house warden. Each house is on duty for a month. Points are awarded to the house on the basis of display boards, maintenance of discipline, news, thoughts etc. Inter House competitions are organised throughout the year. At the end of the year the house gaining the highest number of points receives the inter-house running trophy “Lakysha”.
Based on the academic performance of the students of each house, the inter-house running trophy ‘Vigya’ is awarded.
The Interact Club
The Interact Club operates under the guidance of the Rotary Club of Delhi South East. The aim of the club is to give the students leadership qualities and relationship skills, by organising inter-school/intra-school competitions or fund raising events and also by sensitising them towards social problems.
The President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and the board of Directors are chosen by the outgoing board on the basis of an interview.
I.Q.F. Group
The school has an IQF group, part of a large corporate group called Indus Quality Foundation Ltd. the school group introduces the concept of quality to the students through its improvement projects.
Awards and scholarships
- Baby Puja Kundra Scholarship : two scholarships for the two best all rounder students of class VIII (more than 75% in academics and achievements in inter-school/house competitions).
- Major Rohit Dutta Scholarship: two scholarships given to the two best all rounder students of class XII.
- PTA Scholarship: given to students scoring 85% and above in class X board examination.
- School Scholarship: given to students scoring 80% and above in class X board examination.
- Chestha Award: given to one student of class V and one of class IX for showing improvement in academics.
- Rotary Scholarship: given to the two all rounder students of class XI.
- MS. Sood Scholarship: given to the student who has scored the highest marks in English in Class XII board exams.
- Dakshya Trophy: rolling trophy given to the best all rounder student of class VI.
- Sarvagya Trophy: rolling trophy given to the best all rounder student of class VII.
- Indulika Tomar Award: rolling trophy and cash award given to meritorious students in Science form classes VI to VIII.
- Naad Trophy: running trophy given to the best house in music.
- Ravinder Sharma Memorial Trophy: rolling trophy awarded to the house standing first in Inter House Cultural Competition.
- Vigya Trophy: running trophy given to the house best in academics.
