Stuttgart High School is a public secondary school for students in grades 9 through 12 located in Stuttgart, Arkansas. The high school is administered by the Stuttgart Public Schools. It is located at the intersection of West 22nd Street and South Buerkle Road.

Academics

The assumed course of study for students follow the Smart Core curriculum developed by the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE). Students complete regular (core and career focus) courses and exams and may select Advanced Placement (AP) coursework and exams that provide an opportunity to receive college credit. Since 1924, Stuttgart High School is a charter member and has been an accredited by AdvancED (formerly North Central Association) since 1924.[3]

Since 1999, Stuttgart has participated in the EAST Initiative.[4]

Stuttgart High School is nationally recognized as a Bronze Medalist in the Best High Schools Report 2012 by U.S. News & World Report.[2]

Extracurricular activities

The Stuttgart High School mascot and athletic emblem is the Ricebird with maroon and white serving as the school colors.

Athletics

For 2012–16, the Stuttgart Ricebirds compete in the 4A Classification from the 4A District 2 Conference as administered by the Arkansas Activities Association in interscholastic activities and sports such as: football, basketball, baseball, golf, cheerleading, soccer, softball, track & field, bowling and tennis.

Clubs and traditions

Stuttgart students participate in a wide variety of clubs and organizations that offer opportunities in community service projects, competitions and events including Art Club, Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), FCCLA, Quiz Bowl, and Student Council.
