Stupino was an air base in Russia located 5 km east of Stupino. It was a military transport base until the mid-1990s, home to 436 OTAP (436th Independent Transport Aviation Regiment) under the command of Soviet Anti-Air Defense (PVO) flying Mi-8 helicopters. It is now a general aviation airport.
