Steven Elder

Steven Elder (born Steven William Thomas Lawrence) is an English actor working in film, television, and theatre. His works include the play Després de la pluja.[1]

Biography

Steven was born in the front room of 63 Elder Drive in the coal-mining community of Sunnyside, Rotherham, England, the son of Clifford and Margaret Lawrence. His grandfather, father and five uncles were all coal-miners at the Silverwood Colliery in Rotherham, England. His father, Clifford Lawrence, was also a professional boxer. His mother, Margaret Barlow Lawrence, was the youngest of ten children.

Steven was educated at Valley Comprehensive School in Worksop, Nottinghamshire; and at Queen Mary, University of London where he was awarded a BA Hons degree in English Literature. He then attended drama school at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art (London). Steven is represented in the UK by Independent Talent Group Ltd., and in the USA by Jeff Goldberg Management.[2]

He divides his time between London and Los Angeles. Steven is currently on the Board of the Orange Tree Theatre.[3]
