Steve Tyler (born September 21, 1963) is an American actor, model, producer and activist best known for his character as Mathew Haines in The Journey of Jared Price.

He is known for his diverse roles in Farrelly brothers directed films such as Kingpin, Me, Myself & Irene, There's Something About Mary, Shallow Hal and Stuck on You.[1] His television appearances include Gino in Days of Our Lives and recurring role as the minister of Fairview in Desperate Housewives.[2]

Early life and career

Tyler was born in Brookline, Massachusetts. He lives in Los Angeles, California where he is an active participant in the city's artistic, political and philanthropical communities. He was the national spokesman for Big Brothers of America, Governor appointed board member of the California Council for the Humanities and Board of Governors of GLASS.[3]

As an actor, Tyler has appeared in King Pin, Me, Myself & Irene, Starred as Matthew Haines in The Journey of Jared Price a coming-of-age 2000 film written, produced and directed by Academy Award winner Dustin Lance Black. Black won the Oscar award for Best Original Screenplay for Milk. Tyler also appeared in There's Something About Mary, Shallow Hal, Stuck on You and The Three Stooges which marked his sixth film with Farrelly brothers.[4] Other film roles include A River Made to Drown In, Boys Life 3 and recurring Guest Star as the Minister on Desperate Housewives and as Gino in Days of Our Lives. He has numerous acting awards for his theatrical work in Los Angeles, where he has appeared in First Couple, The Cat's Meow, Rubicon, Self Help, Carla and forty theatrical productions from New York to Los Angeles to his credit.

Early in his career. he was a model and appeared as the Kool cigarette man in a worldwide media campaign. Tyler also appeared in over 200 television commercials. He had a regular hosting gig on PM Magazine.[5]
