Steve Hauschildt

Steve Hauschildt (born 1984 in Bay Village, Ohio) is an American electronic musician. He was a member of the band Emeralds and since the folding of the band has released two albums and a collection.

Career

Like the other members of his former band, Hauschildt began his career based in Cleveland. While performing and recording as a trio of, all members of Emeralds released solo material. Hauschildt released two albums under his own name in this period, The Summit and Critique of the Beautiful. Post-Emeralds, Hauschildt's first widely distributed release arrived in 2011, when Kranky Records released his full-length Tragedy & Geometry.^[1] The album features heavy use of the synthesizer and is influenced by 1970s-era Kosmische musik.^[2] Its title is taken from the subjects governed by two of the Greek muses, Melpomene and Polyhymnia.^[3] In 2012 a second album Sequitur was released,^[4] followed by the collection of outtakes and demos S/H on Editions Mego a year later.^[5] In the latter part of 2014, Hauschildt contributed the collection Air Texture IV together with BNJMN.^[6]
