SWRP
SWRP (Star Wars Role Play) is a fantasy role-play community, focused primarily on the continuous power struggle between the fictional factions within the Star Wars franchise. The community's members create spontaneous, faction and character specific, scenes of role-play on the social networking platform of Habbo Hotel. The roleplay is set thousands of years after the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It is the longest standing role-play community on the social networking site. Currently the Star Wars Roleplay Community has become increasingly active on social media sites such as KiK and Instagram, with notable instagram users such as @grand_admiral_thrawn and @yoda3027 who are leading members of the "Empire" on the instagram roleplay community for star wars.
Early records indicate that the role-play was founded in 2001, and is regulated and monitored by a group of volunteer individuals on the forums. Between 2012 and 2015, over 811 members have taken part in SWRP. SWRP is a non-profit community.
Races and factions
The traits, attributes and attitudes a character can adopt must be within the realms and possibilities of the Star Wars Galaxy. The most popular factions chosen to role-play within the community are the Jedi and the Sith. Both factions are in constant conflict with one another and represent the left and right wing political viewpoints of the Star Wars Galaxy respectively. It is common for new players to choose to role-play their character aligned to one of these factions. However, other factions blurring the line between good and evil also exist, adding depth to the community's scenes.
A list of playable factions are listed below:
- Bounty Hunter
- Crime Lord
- Imperial Forces
