Star Trek: Enterprise relaunch

The Star Trek: Enterprise (ENT) relaunch is a line of non-canon novels released since 2006, continuing the American science fiction television series, Star Trek: Enterprise. To date, eight novels have been published.

Books

• Last Full Measure: (May 2006)^[1] The novel is set during the television show's third season Xindi story arc, focusing on the cultural clash that occurs between the Starfleet personnel and MACO (Military Assault Command Operations), a fictional military unit seen in Star Trek: Enterprise. It has a prologue and epilogue set in 2238 that sets up the premise of the first official relaunch novel, The Good That Men Do.
• The Good That Men Do: (March 2007)^[2] this novel uses the controversial ^[3][4][5] final episode of the television series "These Are the Voyages..." as a framing element to detail how Commander Tucker, did not actually die, but survived. He was surgically altered to become a Romulan, and worked undercover for Starfleet Intelligence with very few people allowed to know he was alive.
• Kobayashi Maru: (September 2008): Tucker is still working undercover as a Starfleet agent in Romulan space, attempting to find out all he can learn about what the Romulans are planning, aside from gathering all intelligence on their new warp 7 engine, which is still only a theoretical possibility for Starfleet. The Kobayashi Maru scenario, as seen previously in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, is described for real in this book, when Archer attempts to rescue the crew of the freighter. He is forced to call off the rescue by means of a secret message from Tucker, shortly after which United Earth announces that it is at war with the Romulans.
• The Romulan War: Beneath the Raptor's Wing: (November 2009): The first book written by Michael A. Martin alone. It covers the first year of the Earth-Romulan War, an event only mentioned in various Star Trek episodes, as far back as "Balance of Terror." Starfleet and the other members of the coalition are consistently losing the fight with the Romulans. Their ability to capture and take control of enemy ships has Earth's allies running scared; they eventually decide to break the coalition's mutual defense clause and simply retreat to their own space leaving Earth to face the Romulans alone. After more costly battles Starfleet decides it needs ships more quickly and starts rebuilding the small old Daedalus class ships with improved technology. The book ends with Commodore Archer leading his fleets against the Romulans and retaking a colony in the process (his ships now immune to the capturing device). The victory celebrations are short lived, however, as the enemy annexes a world within striking range of Earth itself.
• The Romulan War: To Brave the Storm: (November 2011): The second Romulan War novel covers the remaining years of the Earth-Romulan War, and concludes with the formation of the United Federation of Planets.
• Rise of the Federation: A Choice of Futures: (June 2013): This novel focuses on the early days of the United Federation of Planets and the lives of Admiral Jonathan Archer and his former crew. When several independent worlds ask for help against a little-known enemy, friction occurs among Federation officials over responding with aggression or responding with diplomacy.^[6]
• Rise of the Federation: Tower of Babel: (April 2014): Admiral Jonathan Archer and his allies work to bring the worlds and peoples of the prosperous Rigel system into the Federation. However amidst fierce political debates surrounding an upcoming Federation presidential election, the Orion Syndicate recruits allies of its own to beat the Federation at its own game.^[7]
• Rise of the Federation: Uncertain Logic: (April 2015): When the rediscovered teachings of Surak are seemingly proven to be a fraud, control of Vulcan threatens to revert to the old warlike regime. Admiral Archer, Captain T'Pol, and their allies investigate but do not suspect the true masterminds behind the conspiracy. Meanwhile, Captain Malcolm Reed and Trip Tucker work together when a technological threat from outside the Federation re-emerges.^[8]
