Stan Dragoti
Stanley John "Stan" Dragoti (born October 4, 1932) is an American film director whose work includes the comedies Mr. Mom and Love at First Bite.[1][2] Dragoti was born in New York City to Albanian parents, both having emigrated in the 1920s from the district of Tepelenë, in Southern Albania. His interest in cinematography led him to Cooper Union College in New York and later to the Visual Arts College. He has also produced ads for the air travel and automobile industry.
Drug Charges
Dragoti claims that he was pushed to drug use by overwork and the love affair between his wife Cheryl Tiegs and photographer Peter Beard. It was the possession of cocaine that landed Dragoti in a West German courtroom on the 4th of July, 1979. He faced 10 years in prison but luckily the judge didn't see him as a criminal and took pity on him. His 21-month sentence was suspended and he was released from his 7-by-12-foot prison cell to return home.
