St Paul's School, Agartala

St. Paul's School, as an Methodist Episcopal school, was started by New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society in 1943 with a view to teaching Tribal students belonging to the minority Christian faith of the interior villages of Tripura, India. The school was the first English Medium school in the kingdom.

From then onwards until 1964 this school was run by the said society. In 1964, the general administration of the school was handed over to the Tripura Baptist Christian Union. So long the medium of instruction was Bengali. The Union with the approval and support of the N. Z. B. M. S. commenced to switch the school over to English Medium in 1971.
