St Mary's and St John's CE School is a Church of England all-through school located in the Hendon area of the London Borough of Barnet, England. It is widely known as SMSJ and is the first all-through school in Barnet. It is part of the London Diocesan Board of Schools, administered by the Church of England Diocese of London.
Previously a primary school located at Prothero Gardens in Hendon, in September 2014 St Mary's and St John's CE School started to accept secondary school age pupils. The school has also expanded onto a second site on Sunningfields Road previously occupied by St Mary's CE High School.
St Mary's CE High School was previously located over two sites in Hendon, however due to falling pupil numbers the school is in the process of closing, and since September 2013 it is now located on one site at Downage in Hendon. The school is expected to close fully in 2016.[1] However St Mary's and St John's School took over the Sunningfields Road site from St Mary's High School in September 2013, and will also ultimately take over the Downage site from St Mary's High School when it closes in 2016.[2]
