Srijan Pal Singh
Srijan Pal Singh (Hindi: सृजन पाल सिंह) is an Indian author, public speaker and social entrepreneur. He was born and raised in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
Srijan Pal Singh is an Electrical engineer from the Institute of Engineering & Technology, Lucknow and a Management graduate from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA); which is consistently ranked as one of the best business schools in India and in the Asia-Pacific region.
At IIMA, he was head of the student’s council and engaged in a variety of social and developmental activities and projects with the Police, local political institutions and MPs, MGNREGA, Public Distribution System, many youth organizations and has assisted Members of Parliament to formulate constituency management program. He was awarded the IIMA Gold Medal for the Best All-rounder student from the graduating batch of 2009.
Career
Srijan is one of the leading young activists. Between 2009 and 2015, Srijan worked with Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam who served as the 11th President of India, in promoting various assignments such as "What Can I Give Movement", Energy Independence for the nation, nuclear and space missions, and Providing Urban Amenities to Rural Areas.[1]
He has co-authored a bestseller book with Dr. Kalam titled, Target 3 Billion[2] which recommends innovative solutions towards sustainable development of the rural areas of the world. The idea of PURA evolved from the book was taken up as a major national program by Government of India in association with many Indian corporates in a Private-Public-Partnership Model. He has co-Authored 2 more books with Dr. Kalam titled “Reignited: Scientific Pathways to a Brighter Future” & “Advantage India: From Challenge to Opportunity”.
Srijan has also co-authored Delhi Metro : Excellence in Management, published by UNDP,[3] which is a study of best practices in management of Public Sector Organizations in developing world, specifically the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. He also takes lectures on community action, leadership and development in Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and Indian Institute of Management Indore. He is a public speaker and have spoken at various events including various TEDx Events,[4] Australia India Youth Dialogue[5] and has contributed to leading national newspapers like Rajasthan Patrika and The Hindu.[6]In 2014, he was appointed as the Member of the Expert team of Shyama Prasad Mukherji RURBAN Mission by Government of India.
In 2014, he co-founded the initiative, Barefoot IT with IT Minister of Karnataka Shri S.R. Patil. Barefoot IT was envisaged with the key goal to empower people at the bottom of the pyramid by creating a platform that brings together technology, policy makers and other key stakeholders through active problem identification and analysis so as to come up with innovative solutions. e-Spandana[7] which was launched under Barefoot IT for connecting rural masses with its elected representatives (GP, ZP Members, MLA, MP) to identify and overcome problems and issues faced collectively. It is an initiative to take Government to the doorstep of rural masses.
Srijan launched a book on smart cities named as "Smart and Human: Building Cities of Wisdom" on 16th March 2015 which he coauthored with GRK Reddy, MD MAARG Group.

From Nov 2011 to Nov 2012, Srijan was instrumental in starting a youth movement with Dr Kalam, called What Can I Give Mission, which reached a network of over 500,000 volunteers from across India, both rural and urban who are working towards a clean, green and corruption free India.
He has worked in the corporate world as a Management Consultant with the Boston Consulting Group[8] - a global management consulting firm and the world's leading advisor on business strategy. There he worked in close association with the World Food Program on improving governance and transparency in Public Distribution System in Naxal affected areas of Orissa.
