SprintAir Sp. z o.o., part of SprintAir Group, is a regional airline based in Warsaw, Poland.[2] It mainly operates domestic and regional passenger and freight services. Its main operating base is Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport.

History

The airline was originally set up in 2003 under the name of Air Polonia Cargo Sp. z o.o. It started freight and mail flights in April 2004, with three Let L-410 UVP-E planes. Later that year the airline was renamed to Sky Express Sp. z o.o. and acquired its first SAAB 340A turboprops. Between April 2006 and April 2007 it started scheduled domestic passenger operations under the Direct Fly brand. After suspension of regular passenger flights the airline has been continuing freight operations. In January 2008 SprintAir Group has been established and the airline changed its name to SprintAir.

Two more Saab 340A's, formerly of Crossair, Delta Air, Hazelton Airlines and REX were delivered in April 2008.

In summer of 2011, Sprintair operated charter flights from several Polish airports to few holiday destinations (mainly in mediterranean sea region) using single Airbus A320 aircraft which was leased from Portuguese carrier White Airways. This activity was suspended with the end of summer 2011 season, and have never been continued.
