Spike Island (Tasmania)
Spike Island is a close pair of two granite islands, with a combined area of 6 ha, in south-eastern Australia. It is part of Tasmania’s Passage Island Group, lying in eastern Bass Strait south of Cape Barren Island in the Furneaux Group. They lie in Spike Bay just off the west coast of Clarke Island.
Fauna
Recorded breeding seabird and wader species include little penguin, Pacific gull, silver gull and sooty oystercatcher.[1]
