Spalding High School (Georgia) is located in Griffin, Georgia. It is part of the Griffin-Spalding County School System. Its mascot is the Jaguar and the school colors are blue and silver.

This is the third Spalding County, Georgia school to have this name. The first Spalding High was built in 1929 and opened in 1930. This building was located on Spalding Street, near the Dixie Highway and west of the city of Griffin. In 1943, the original building burned. In 1945, the second Spalding High was built. The first two Spalding High Schools were part of the Spalding County School System. In 1953, the Griffin and Spalding County school systems merged. As a result of the consolidated, the second Spalding High was closed.[3]

Statistics and Facts

In the 2008-2009 school year, Will Ficklen of Spalding High School was one of two winners of the Wendy's High School Heisman Award in Georgia.

At the end of the 2011 school year, the Spalding High School baseball team placed second in the state after three games against Columbus High School.[4]

On October 2015, Spalding High school went down in history as they crowned their first ever Homecoming King with a disability.

The 2015-2016 Royal Court follows as listed: Queen, Taylor Stringer, King Timothy Hamilton, Prince Artavious E. Morgan, Princess Sierra Montogmery, Prince Colin Releford & Princess Emily Huckaby.

Spalding High's 2015-2016 football season made history, when the Jaguars took on their cross-town rivalry high school (Griffin High School) and defeated them for the first time in years. Led by head coach Mr. Nick Davis.
