The Southern Midlands Council is a local government area of Tasmania. It covers the southern part of the central farmland area known as the Central Midlands, around the Midland Highway. The population of the Southern Midlands is 6049 (2011 Census).
Major population centres include the towns of Bagdad, Kempton, Campania and Oatlands.
