Southeastern Baptist College

Southeastern Baptist College is a private Baptist Bible college founded in 1948. The college is located in Laurel, Mississippi and offers both a 4-year Bachelor's degree program and a 2-year curriculum. Dr. Medrick Savell is the President, Joseph Harris is the Executive Vice President and Dr. Aaron Parker is the Academic Dean, with over 71 years combination of service to Southeastern.

The college is accredited at the state level by the Mississippi Commission on Accreditation, and by the Association For Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) on the national level. The Association for Biblical Higher Education is recognized by the US Department of Education and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and is an approved Title IV school for its students to receive financial aid through Pell Grants. Eligible students can receive VA benefits.

Student activities

Southeastern Baptist College also has activities for the students to be involved with, such as: Ministerial Alliance, Choir, and Chapel and evangelistic opportunities.

Location

The campus is located on 28 acres (110,000 m2) containing nine buildings on Hwy. 15 N just outside Laurel, MS in the Shady Grove community. Laurel is just a short drive from Hattiesburg, Meridian, and Jackson, Mississippi.

Studies

Southeastern offers Associate of Arts degrees in Bible, Business, and General Education and a Bachelor of Science degree in Church Ministries. All liberal arts courses are taught by qualified faculty from a Christian Worldview perspective.

Southeastern has many graduates continue on to such seminaries as the Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, Texas, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth,Texas, Liberty University and Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia, Temple Baptist Seminary in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Reformed Seminary in Jackson, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Mid America Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee, as well as locally, William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Southeastern Baptist College is owned, and operated by the Baptist Missionary Association of the state of Mississippi and governed by a board of trustees elected annually by the association.

Students benefit not only from the aspect of expanding their minds through Christian Education, but through the small class sizes, which allows for more "one on one" time for the teachers and students.
