South Lenoir High School is located in Deep Run, North Carolina, USA. It is part of the Lenoir County Public School system. Its current principal is Steve Saint-Ammand.
History
In 1926, the Deep Run School was built for grades 1-12. The spirit colors were red and white. The mascot was the state bird, the Cardinal. In 1964, the county's schools consolidated and Deep Run closed and was reopened at South Lenoir for high school students in Lenoir County south of the Neuse River. The school's nickname changed to the "Rebels" before changing again to the "Blue Devils" after the integration of white and black students in 1970.[1]
Yearbook
South Lenoir's yearbook is known as the Brimstone. It is made by the yearbook committee.
Clubs and extracurricular activities
South Lenoir has several extracurricular activities that students are urged to participate in, including:

- The GREEN: an environmental club devoted to making the school beautiful and creating environmental awareness
- Model United Nations
- National Honor Society
- Quizbowl/Academic Bowl: academic trivia club. South Lenoir's quizbowl team last won the regional competition in 2012 and the local competition in 2015.[2]
