South Australian Railways X class

The South Australia Railways X class was a class of 2-6-0 tender locomotive engine. It was heavier than the class that it replaced, causing problems on the sharp curves on the Quorn railway, where the curves had to be eased.

The locomotives were narrow gauge (1,067 mm (3 ft 6 in)). There were eight locomotives in the class which were built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in the United States. The locomotives entered service in 1881 and 1882 and were condemned between 1896 and 1907.
