The Sony A7R II (stylized "Sony α7R II", model ILCE-7RM2)[1] was announced by Sony on June 10, 2015. As of the time of its release, it has the largest backside illuminated CMOS sensor of any camera in the market, the previous largest being used in the Samsung NX1 released only months earlier. The camera was released August 5, 2015.[2]
