Sondre Oddvoll Bøe (born 13 January 1998) is a Norwegian figure skater. He is the 2014 Norwegian national senior champion and 2015 Nordic silver medalist.[1]

Personal life

Sondre Oddvoll Bøe was born in Bærum, Norway.[2] He is a student at Bjørknes secondary school in Oslo.[3] His sister, Emilie, has also competed in figure skating.[2]

Career

From an early age, Oddvoll Bøe trained mainly under Berit Steigedal in Asker, Norway, and visited Oberstdorf, Germany for additional coaching by Michael Huth.[4][5] After debuting on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series in 2012, he competed at the 2013 World Junior Championships in Milan but did not reach the free skate.

Making his senior international debut, he placed 25th at the 2014 European Championships in Budapest, Hungary. He qualified for the free skate at the 2014 World Junior Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria and finished 24th overall.

In the summer of 2014, Oddvoll Bøe decided to train mainly in Oberstdorf.[6][3] Sondre started his 2014–2015 season with the Junior Grand Prix competitions in Tallinn and Dresden, placing 13th and 14th. He was named in the Norwegian team to the 2015 European Championships in Stockholm, Sweden. There he qualified for the free skate, and placed 22nd overall. At the Nordics he won the senior silver medal. Oddvoll Bøe also competed at the 2015 Junior Worlds in Tallinn, where he did not qualify for the free skate.

Oddvoll Bøe started his 2015–2016 season with a 10th place at both Junior Grand Prix events in Riga and Torun. At the 2016 European Championships he placed 20th in the short program and 24th and overall.
