Slobodan Slović (Serbian Cyrillic: Cлoбoдaн Cлoвић, born February 9, 1975 in Čačak) is a Serbian professional football midfielder playing with FK Šumadija Jagnjlo. He played for Red Star Belgrade, Cercle Brugge, Royal Antwerp among others.

Career

He started his career playing for FK Borac Čačak. He later went to FK Železnik and Red Star Belgrade, to go back again to Železnik. Slović was capped as a youth international for his country.

In 2004, Slobodan Slović was transferred to Belgian First Division side Cercle Brugge, where he currently still is playing. He was recruited together with two fellow-countrymen, Saša Antunović and Milan Nikolić, but they would be released on a free transfer only a few weeks later.

In his first season, Slović had difficulties in achieving and keeping a place in the starting eleven. At first he was fielded as a side midfielder, but this never seemed a success. Later, Slovic would play as a central midfielder, which would lead to better performances. Playing this position, Slović would turn out to be one of the more important players for Cercle Brugge. His strongest points are his dribbling and his passing. Critics although say that he slows the game down, keeping the ball too much in his possession.

He played on loan with Antwerp FC for the second half of the 2007-08 season. On July 21, 2008, Slović was definitively transferred from Cercle Brugge to Antwerp.

During winter break of the 2010-11 season he returned to Serbia and signed to the newly promoted FK Inđija. At the end of the season, as the club failed to avoid relegation from the Serbian SuperLiga, he moved to FK Hajduk Beograd, once a top flight side, now playing in the Serbian League Belgrade. In the following season he moved to another same level club, FK Šumadija Jagnjilo[1]
