The Slaughter House Covered Bridge, also called the Slaughterhouse Covered Bridge,[2] is a wooden covered bridge that crosses Dog River in Northfield, Vermont, on Slaughter House Road. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.[1]

The bridge is of Queen post truss design.

Recent history

There are no documents to verify, but the 8-ton weight limit seems to indicate that the deck has been reinforced by I-beams, likely in the 20th century.[3]
