The slate-coloured seedeater (Sporophila schistacea) is a bird species in the family Thraupidae, native to Central America and South America.
Distribution
The bird's natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, and heavily degraded former forests.
It is found in Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela.
