Simplilearn is an online education provider of professional certification training, based in Scotts Valley, California, USA. They have trained more than 450,000 customers globally while it offers more than 400+ professional certification training courses across 20 verticals through its multiple-modes of training – Self-Learning Online Training and Instructor-Led Online Classroom Training. The multiple-mode training was initiated by Simplilearn to suit the different needs of working professionals.[2]

History

Simplilearn was founded in 2009 as Simplilearn.com, a project management blog, by founder and CEO Krishna Kumar after his company TechUnified was acquired by ORG Informatics in 2007[3][4][5] The blog provided project management tips as well as information on certification and professional training, and was accessed by three thousand people in 150 countries over the site's first nine months.[6][7] In April 2010, Simplilearn introduced a “blended model” approach to Project Management Professional (PMP) training, which employed a mixture of classroom and online training.[8][9] This included additional courses, including online training, blended classroom training and exam practice tests in areas like IT service management, IT security management, finance management, quality management, and certification Microsoft and Cisco.[10] Simplilearn has trained over 400,000+ professionals across 150+ countries.[2] Moreover in 2013 the company had acquired a US-based SAP training organization, adding SAP training to its programs and also raised USD 10 million in series B round led by Helion Venture Partners and its existing investor Kalaari Capital.[11] In 2015 Simplilearn raised $15 million in Series C funding.[12] and now offers professional training courses on Big Data and Analytics, Digital Marketing, Project Management and Quality Management to name a few.

Acquisition

In June 2015, they acquired a US based digital marketing training company Market Motive[13] for $10 Million. Although Market Motive will work as an independent part of Simplilearn.
