Signal Mountain Middle High School
Signal Mountain Middle High School located in Signal Mountain, Tennessee, was opened in 2008.[1] More than 1350 students are currently enrolled. The School currently has the same dress code for middle school and high school.
SMMHS's colors are red and black. The principal is Ms. Robin Copp. Their mascot is an eagle. As of August 2010, the student population is 97% Caucasian, 2% African American, and 1% Other. The Signal Mountain football team won the District 2A state championship in 2010. The Signal Mountain girl's golf team won state championship in 2009, 2010 and 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. The Signal Mountain cross country team won state in 2013 and 2014. The Signal Mountain volleyball team won state in 2010.
SMMHS became an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme school as of 2010[2] and added the IB Diploma Programme in 2011.[3]
Signal Mountain has participated in academic competitions, including Youth in Government, Model United Nations, Technology Student Association, and in mock trial.
The marching band, Signal Corps Marching Band, has placed in all the competitions in which it has participated. They perform at Disney World annually.
