List of supercentenarians from Asia

These are lists of Asian supercentenarians (people from Asia who have attained the age of at least 110 years). According to the Gerontology Research Group, as of January 2016 there have been over 300 verified supercentenarian from Asia, all of them living in Japan. The oldest verified Asian person ever was Misao Okawa of Japan, who died on 1 April 2015, aged 117 years 27 days.[1] As of 16 February 2016, there are 22 verified living supercentenarians in Asia.[1] The oldest verified living person in Asia is Nabi Tajima of Japan, born 4 August 1900, aged 115 years, 196 days.

The vast majority of verified Asian cases of supercentenarians come from Japan due to Japan has kept birth records for more than a century while other Asian countries have historically been less meticulous about keeping such records; China and India have many supercentenarians, but none are confirmed because the governments did not track births prior to the early 1900s.[2] There have been 5 emigrant supercentenarians from Asia who have been verified. The oldest ever emigrant from Asia was Lucy d'Abreu (1892-2005), born in India, who died in the United Kingdom aged 113 years 197 days.
