Shevana is an online serviced accommodation provider, connecting property managers and clients (business or leisure) in renting serviced apartments for private accommodation for short or long term stays. The listings include only pre-approved apartments in serviced buildings, responding to firm standards.

History

The site was founded in September 2011 by the Danish entrepreneur and Nokia ex-Project Director Niels Nielsen.

In 2012 a couple of investors showed interest in the company and a procedure for initial funding was started. Until that time, the CEO Niels Nielsen was investing in the company and was developing the sales stream. Currently, the site offers accommodation in over 100 locations globally.

In 2012 the company started developing the idea of "Residential Sustainability" and also putting the employees wellbeing as a high priority for businesses. Driven from his own experience as a management consultant in the telecommunication industry for over 15 years across 60 countries, Niels Nielsen sees employees’ wellbeing and work-life balance as a critical equation building a case for employer companies’ reaction.

In a recent survey 87% of HR specialists of international companies confirm that the comforts of apartment residence make employees feel happier, appreciated and less frustrated to change when working away from home. All survey respondents believe that provision of suitable accommodation to employees and their families during international assignments is essential for building performance and organizational health.

The company targets the corporate clients and offers full assistance for lowering annual accommodation spent, by utilising the proposed personalised apartment options, delivering a homefeel environment to relocated specialists working on long-term projects, expats and travelling professionals.

The listings on the site vary from €30 for a small studio to €900 per night for a super luxurious palatial apartment in Dubai.

Present Development

Currently, the company is raising capital from different venture companies and develops further the road map of the company's expanding, focusing mainly on 24/7 client support and assistance, provided by humans, not machines; expanding the portfolio presence and developing own hospitality & sales software. The planned target for 2013 is 1.3 million materialised room nights.
