Sherri DuPree-Bemis (born December 3, 1983) is a singer-songwriter from Texas.[1] She is most prominently known for being one of the primary vocalists and songwriters for the band Eisley. Dupree-Bemis is also a notable guest vocalist for many other projects, as well as a visual artist.

Career

Three of her siblings, Chauntelle, Stacy, and Weston DuPree, are also members of Eisley, along with her cousin, Garron DuPree. Her youngest sister Christie has also occasionally performed with them live. DuPree-Bemis's drawings can be seen on much of the Eisley merchandise, as well as on most of their album artwork. DuPree-Bemis appears on various songs with sister Stacy, including "Dance Party Plus" by Head Automatica and "Unglued" by Fair. During their headlining tour, Sherri and Stacy came out and sang with Fair's singer Aaron Sprinkle during this song. Stacy and Sherri contributed vocals to the album Cassadaga by Bright Eyes while in Malibu for the recording of their second full-length album, Combinations. DuPree-Bemis also sang a verse for a song on Brighten's album King vs. Queen, and she sings during the Two Tongues track "Interlude" on the supergroup's self-titled 2009 album. Most recently, DuPree-Bemis contributed vocals to two tracks on Say Anything's self-titled album released in 2009. She also did vocals on multiple songs for her ex-husband's band New Found Glory for their album Coming Home, which featured love songs written by Gilbert inspired by Sherri. DuPree is inspired by Radiohead, Sunny Day Real Estate, Kent, Pink Floyd, the Beatles, Neutral Milk Hotel and Death Cab for Cutie among others.

Personal life

Sherri was previously married to Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory from February to December 2007, although they later divorced. The divorce is the topic of many Eisley songs, including "Mr. Moon." Sherri married Say Anything’s lead singer Max Bemis on April 4, 2009. Sherri and Max had their first child, Lucy Jean Bemis, on February 11, 2013. DuPree-Bemis revealed that Lucy was named for Lucy Pevensie of The Chronicles of Narnia. On August 7, 2014 Bemis and DuPree Bemis announced on Instagram that they were expecting another daughter, Coraline Mae, who was born on February 25, 2015. Coraline is named after Neil Gaiman's novel of the same name.
