Shelley Miranda Barrett

Shelley Miranda Barrett (born c.1974), also known as Shelley Norton, is a Welsh actress, best known for her role as Mandy in the BBC television series Satellite City.^[1]

Barrett was born in Penarth and is the daughter of politician Lorraine Barrett and music industry agent Paul Barrett.^[2] Her brother, Lincoln, has an entertainment career as DJ High Contrast. She was educated at Stanwell Comprehensive School and Coleg Glan Hafren. She married the actor Richard Norton in 2002, at Albertson's Chapel on Sunset Boulevard.;^[3] the couple met while appearing in a play entitled Killing Kangaroos at the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff. Their daughter, Esme, was born in 2004.

Barrett and her husband lived for a period in Australia, where a second daughter was born, but she subsequently returned to live in Wales and worked as an Arts Manager at the Wales Millennium Centre.^[4] In 2011, under the name Shelley Barrett-Norton, she launched The Big Talent School and Agency, a company she ran in partnership with Leigh-Ann Regan.^[5]
